The Foundation

The Albany County Public Library Foundation was established in 1978 to raise and hold funds towards the building of the "new" library.  After the building was completed in 1981, the Foundation role was expanded to include:
  • Purchase of books, equipment and other materials
  • Education the public on the use and function of library facilities
  • Promote increased literacy in Albany County
  • Enlist public support for major capital projects at the library
In 2005, the foundation hired its first executive director. The Foundation supports library programs and also organizes programs that fall under the aegis of the foundation’s mission. These include Speaker/Writer Series and the Tax Aid Wyoming providing free income tax filing assistance for low income residents.
