New Cards-- Prepaid for You when You pay your taxes!
Albany County Public Library will issue a card to anyone who live, shop, go to school, or own property in Albany County. Please bring a picture id and proof of current address. A current driver's license will suffice for both. If your license does not reflect your current address, a piece of mail or a bill you have received will verify your address.
Replacement Cards
The first replacement of a card costs $1.00, subsequent replacements are $5.00. Free replacement cards are issued if the barcode of the old card is brought in at the time of replacement, upon changing from a juvenile card to an adult card, and upon changing from an adult card to a senior citizen card.
Checkout Policies
You must have your library card to checkout library materials. All books, videos, magazines, and books on tape all check out for three weeks, except for the most recent issue of a magazine, which is limited to in-library use only. Audio-visual equipment checks out for 24 hours.
